National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR)
1850 Table Mesa Dr., Boulder, Colorado

Conditions - In general, the conditions at NCAR are great. The place is clean and all the obstacles are sturdy and well kept. The only people you will find here are hikers and tourists on the weekends and workers during the week. Be sure to watch out for cacti, irregular ground, and other landing hazards in the surrounding areas of the complex. The building is always open and can provide much needed air conditioning, water, and restrooms.

Security - On weekends, there is a security guard who sometimes patrols the area. While he has been known to yell at photographers, he has witnessed us jumping around and did nothing about it. The main concern about photography is that they do not want you taking pictures through the windows or inside the building. However, on week days, you will get immediately hassled and harassed by the security guards so it is best to only go to the area on weekends.

Obstacles - Because NCAR is like a modern day castle filled with unique architecture, there are a ton of great obstacles for parkour. At first glance, you will notice the incredible roof gaps all over the place. Unfortunately, most of them are hard to access and very large. However, there are many gaps and cat leaps that are easy to access. The area lacks rails but there are a few in the front entrance. NCAR has tons of great gaps, cat leaps, vaults, and more thanks to its unique concrete walls all over the place. At NCAR, you can find all sizes and scales for jumps large and small alike. If you prefer natural parkour, NCAR also offers many hiking trails with a small amount of good rock jumps and trees.

Features: Large gaps, drops, and unique concrete walls.
Lacks: Rails and other technical/precise obstacles.

Overall - Overall, NCAR is a great place to train for a day. The area is semi-remote which is good because you will run into hardly anyone else on a weekend. As stated before, weekends are the recommended time to train here. NCAR is an architectural wonder located in an incredibly scenic area.
