Belmar
Alameda Ave. and Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, Colorado

Conditions - Belmar is great for locals without transportation. It features many different kinds of obstacles with many different kinds of challenges. There are parking garages which are good for training on rainy days, while still having plenty to do while outside in the sun. Although traffic is a factor, both pedesterian and vehicle, you'll be able to find somewhere in this mall to show your stuff. It is kind of out of the way, so if you're hitting downtown or Boulder, you'll probably pass this place up; but if you want to train somewhere that's not too far from downtown, but is pretty new, this is the place.

Security - Belmar has it's own security team, walking/driving around almost twenty four hours a day. Luckily, after a discussion with the head of security, we're all set to train as long as we 'don't scuff up the walls'. If you plan on doing tic-tacs or wall-runs: bring a bucket and sponge. Solves that problem. If you do get stopped by security, just mention that Keith said it's okay, and they should leave you alone.

Obstacles - Plenty of variation. With shimmy ledges, rails, and precisions at your leisure, there's really not a lot you can't do here. Only downside is that tic-tac/wall-run rule. Otherwise, enjoy.

Features: Quadrapedal movement opportunities
Lacks: Tic tacs, wall runs.

Overall - Belmar is great for anyone in the Wheat Ridge/Lakewood/Littleton area that can't get around easily. It's very easy to find bus-wise, since Belmar is right off of the corner of Wadsworth and Alameda. Security guards are pretty friendly, plenty of people to spectate, and diversity among the mall. Only downside is there's a lot of area to cover to get all the good stuff. Also, there are apartment complexes within walking distance that offer even more training fun, but only plan on doing that if you're doing a full-day jam there. There are restaurants and other stores including a Jamba Juice, Whole Foods Market, and a Ben and Jerry's for those hot days of training.
