Q: How did you get into parkour?
A: Growing up, I never had the money
or attention span for extracurricular sports, so I was left with a pair of sneakers and the world
around me... I’ve been playing ever since.
Q: What is your most memorable parkour moment?
A: I’d have to say the first was the
June 4th jam in Denver. Up until that day pk had been something that, aside from my own training,
was very distant, all the content I was getting was over the Internet, very impersonal. It
was only that day in Denver, after getting the chance to jam with so many like-minded guys that it
really came into context, parkour really became a tangible thing.
Since then it’s just been growing and growing, the Tempest Tour blew the top off of everything prior
and ended up leading to the first media exposure for Colorado Springs specifically.
The good times just keep on coming.
Q: What do you like most about parkour?
A: What really attracted me right off the bat
was the way parkour perfectly encompassed everything that I was into but until then had no name
or definition for. It just seemed so tailor-made for me that I knew right
away there was no coincidence here, this was a calling.
Today I just love all the doors it’s opened up physically, mentally,
spiritually I’m discovering more and more every single day.
What I live for most of all though are the people, the community. In this
town we’re a family, in and outside of parkour. One of the most rewarding
experiences has been watching these guys grow, and growing up with them,
introducing new people to the art and sharing my experience, just seeing the
changes it can make in our lives. I've met so many amazing folks over the
past year and a half, across Colorado, across America and across the world.
This stuff really brings people together...
That and the ladies really go for it.
Q: If you could go anywhere in the world for
parkour, where would it be?
A: Right outside my front door. That’s where tomorrow starts and I’m
content to see where God leads me from there.
Q: What are your future plans and/or dreams for your parkour?
A: In the long run, I look forward to a
day when I can teach this stuff to
my children. All I can ask for right now though is a means to use my
parkour, a way to give back with the gift I’ve been given. On the way there
I’m content to just let my parkour reflect the faith and integrity that I
try to live the rest of my life by.
