Rock Ridge Elementary School
400 Heritage Ave., Castle Rock, Colorado

Conditions - Rock Ridge is a year round elementary school that is usually empty after 6 PM. This is an outside only hotspot, and there are no water fountains around so bring your water bottles. The outside is pretty much the usual which includes grass/concrete/steel/sand. On this there are no big drops, only some about 10 feet at the max.

Security - There is usually nobody around the school after 5 or 6 PM. There is nobody that will interfere with your jam or training. When there are kids or parents at the three different playgrounds, they will usually watch you. On weekends, there is no school and it is open all day for a jam.

Obstacles - This is a great area for those who are beginning because it has almost all of the basic necessities. This includes concrete walls for wall running, rails for vaults of all kinds and the rails are of all sizes (great for learning vaults), and grass to learn proper rolling and landing techniques from a jump. It has a great layout for getting a course set up. The downsides are that it is very easy to do so those who want a challenge might have a hard time finding it here. There are little precision jump areas. The roof is pretty hard to reach if you don't know what your doing. There is a rail guard on some of the walls that make it a little hard to do a vault or a wall run.

Features: All the basic obstacles.
Lacks: More challenging obstacles.

Overall - The best thing about this place is that it is for those that are just starting out and don't feel like they are confident enough to train in other areas or they want a safer place to train and not worry about falling or not being able to reach areas others can. The obstacles can go from beginner to intermediate to advanced and this allows you to be able to do what you feel comfortable with. There is absolutely no security after 5 or 6 on weekdays and all day on weekends so you will not be bothered. But it does lack some things such as water fountains, precision jumps, and an indoor area for the winter.
