  • About the Instructors

As the first formal parkour classes offered in the USA, the Colorado Parkour Academy was established in September 2006 by Ryan Ford and Matt Marshall.

Matt and Ryan both have an extensive background in fitness and athletics including weightlifting, gymnastics, martial arts, and football. Matt and Ryan also have many years experience teaching sports to adults and kids.

In addition, Matt and Ryan are two of a small number of American practitioners to travel to Europe to learn from the founders of the discipline. In May of 2008, they traveled to Evry, France, where parkour was created, as guest instructors of the Yamakasi and Parkour Generations at their international seminar. On the same trip, Ryan and Matt traveled in France and England for 3 weeks learning everything they could in order to improve as practitioners and coaches.
