11.20.2007 | Fitness Records
Congratulations to everyone who improved in the Colorado Parkour class cycle. After the week 9 fitness testing, many class participants qualified for the COPK trophy case and it has now been updated.

11.07.2007 | Parkour at the Odyssey School
This week, an official parkour program started at the Odyssey School in Denver. Led by Colorado Parkour instructors Ryan Ford, Matt Marshall, and Jim Parker, 10-15 kids in grades 5-8 will meet once a week to learn parkour.

10.18.2007 | COPK Workshop for the Aspen Valley Snowboard Club
This Saturday, Kannagisai and Willgrind will be leading a Colorado Parkour workshop for the Aspen Valley Snowboard Club. This workshop will see around 15 high level snowboarders ages 12-18 participating in a parkour cross training workshop emphasizing landings and control.

10.18.2007 | Parkour Presentation at the Odyssey School
This Friday, Kannagisai and Monkey from Colorado Parkour will be presenting parkour to the Odyssey School in Denver. This presentation will lead to an after school program beginning in early November for kids at the school in grades 6-8.

10.05.2007 | Parkour at Oberon Middle School
This week, the parkour club at Oberon Middle School in Arvada received coaching from Matt Marshall. As part of an ongoing arrangment, COPK classes leaders, Matt and Ryan Ford, will be helping the kids after school on every other Wednesday.

10.05.2007 | Demon Returns From France
Last week, Demon returned from his trip to France where he trained with some of the best practitioners in the world as part of a TV segment for ESPN. He has finished an article on the experience which can be viewed on Parkour Coaching or APK.

09.26.2007 | Trophy Case Updates
The Trophy Case award for Excellence in Classes has been updated. Congratulations to Jim and Chase for earning this award. In addition, Vapor and Jim have joined the muscle up club. Good job guys!

09.14.2007 | Colorado Parkour Classes Return
At last, Colorado Parkour classes are back in season! We have moved our classes from The Spot to Boulder Crossfit. The fundamentals program will run on Saturdays from 11 AM-1 PM. The intermediate and advanced programs will be postponed temporarily. In the meantime, any intermediate or advanced participants are welcome to join in on a free outdoors jam immediately following the fundamentals class. Go here for more information on classes.

09.14.2007 | Filming for ESPN
From September 17-19, a production crew will be in Boulder filming for a new show on ESPN. They will be attending the Gauntlet night on Monday and possibly the CU jam on Wednesday. In addition, we will be holding a FREE class at Boulder Crossfit on Tuesday evening with the crew there to film as well. For more details on these events, go here.

09.04.2007 | New COPK Feature - Trophy Case
There is a new website feature now running on COPK. The Trophy Case is a tool to recognize the dedication, progression, and fitness achievements of the members of the Colorado Parkour community. The Trophy Case is also a tool to encourage local traceurs to set goals and work hard to complete them.

The Trophy Case is still being designed and updated so keep an eye out for updates. If you want to be included in the trophy case, there is a full description on what to do on the Trophy Case main page!

Due to the new semester starting, the weekly Boulder meets have changed days and times. To see the new details, click on an event on the COPK calendar on the right side of this web page. We hope to see a lot of people attend this year!

08.20.2007 | Back to School
This Friday, Demon and kannagisai will be presenting parkour to the students of Skyland Community High School in Denver. First, they will give a short talk and show a video. Next, they will lead the students outside for a short demo and last of all, invite the students to try some basic movements. Hopefully this is just the beginning of COPK's work with schools!

We would like to thank everyone for coming to the COPK National Jam last weekend. We had over 80 participants (not counting media and spectators) representing about 12 states. It was an incredible thing to have so many talented, like minded, and positive people come together to practice, play, and help each other. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

Colorado Parkour has three valuable gift certificates (up to a $90 value) to give away to Colorado traceurs.

La Sportiva is a Boulder based climbing company that also makes mountain running shoes that are great for parkour. The Race Blades and Fire Blades fit snugly, are light weight and durable, and feature flat and flexible soles with sticky climbing rubber. For parkour, these shoes certainly rank up there with any other shoe, parkour specific or not.

The first gift certificate will be given to the most outstanding student of Colorado Parkour classes at the end of the 10 week parkour fundamentals program. Judging criteria will include attendance, timeliness, effort, progression, attitude, and determination.

At this week's CU jam, Demon and other CU traceurs met with Motive Design and Interactive. Motive is in developmental stages of a series of short documentaries on emerging sports for one of their clients. In the upcoming weeks, Motive plans to work more with Colorado Parkour on the project. Check back for updates.

Since the creation of coloradoparkour.com in July, we have had over 4000 unique visitors. 2006 also saw many new exciting things for parkour in Colorado. From the largest CO jam to date in February to the first weekly parkour classes to many media and news appearances, COPK had a successful year in training and through the advancement of parkour as a known and respected discipline in the state.

Parkour is growing at a faster rate than ever so from COPK, have a safe and successful year of parkour. Train hard and always work to be useful and make positive contributions to others in your community through parkour!
